Velocity’s Season Finale brings dancers, teachers, studios, and families together for a full week of training, competition, performances, scholarship opportunities, and unforgettable experiences designed to celebrate the entire season.
Throughout the week, dancers can participate in opportunities such as Collegiate Dance Team Night, auditions for college and university BFA programs, and additional classes created for parents and children to enjoy together. Representatives from five of the industry’s leading dance agencies also attend convention classes throughout the week to scout dancers. Selected dancers may be invited to meet privately with agency representatives and their families to discuss potential representation opportunities.
Studios and families can also take part in our Wrap Party, an evening focused entirely on fun with a studio spirit contest, inflatables, games, prizes, and more.
The week concludes with Velocity’s formal Gala, one of the largest and most anticipated events of the Season Finale. Guests enjoy a three course dinner while watching a special production that showcases the highest-scoring routines from the week and features a live set from a special guest musical artist. Dancers participating in the MVA Program will also perform as part of the guest artist’s set, creating a once in a lifetime performance experience and an unforgettable conclusion to the Velocity season.
Season Finale fees will be available through the online registration portal beginning March 1, 2027.
Season Finale registration will open on March 15, 2027.
The Season Finale registration deadline is May 22, 2027.
All remaining balances must be paid in full by June 1, 2027.
All registration must be completed through Velocity’s online registration system. Registration is not considered complete until all required dancer information, waivers, selections, and payments have been submitted.
The Season Finale convention deposit structure is the same as Velocity’s Regional events.
Convention deposits begin at $200 and increase by $25 for every 10 registered dancers. The required deposit amount will be calculated automatically by the online registration system.
For registrations that include scholarship recipients, the deposit may be waived or adjusted when the remaining registration balance is less than the required deposit.
Studio deposits cannot generally be bypassed. When only one dancer is attending under a valid scholarship, the studio should contact info@velocitydanceconvention.com before beginning registration for assistance.
All deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Deposits will be applied toward the studio’s remaining convention registration balance.
A dancer’s age for both convention and competition is determined as of January 1, 2027.
The 2027 Season Finale age divisions are:
- Petite: Ages 5 to 6
- Mini: Ages 7 to 8
- Junior: Ages 9 to 10
- Pre-Teen: Ages 11 to 12
- Teen: Ages 13 to 15
- Senior: Ages 16 to 18
Studio Directors and teachers may request that a dancer take regular convention classes in another age division when they believe the dancer would benefit from a different classroom level. Any ballroom change is subject to Velocity’s approval and may require payment of a rate difference.
To be eligible for audition based scholarships, dancers must return to and audition in their correct age division.
Petite and Mini dancers will take convention classes together in the same ballroom.
Although Petite and Mini dancers share a convention ballroom, they remain separate age divisions for scholarships, competition entries, results, and awards.
The Petite and Mini schedule is designed specifically for younger dancers and may differ from the schedules provided for the older age divisions.
Parent Observer wristbands are not available for the Season Finale. Studios may register an eligible Studio Representative for the Petite and Mini Ballroom when additional adult supervision is needed.
Registered Studio Directors and teachers may attend convention classes in any ballroom and participate in eligible teacher programming offered during the Season Finale.
All teachers must be included in the studio’s online registration by the May 22 registration deadline to receive credentials and access designated teacher activities.
Registered teachers may attend scholarship auditions. Teachers must follow all classroom, safety, photography, and credential policies while inside the ballrooms.
Velocity does not provide or reimburse hotel accommodations for teachers attending the Season Finale.
Velocity does not sell Parent Observer wristbands or permit general parent observation inside the convention ballrooms.
A studio may register one Studio Representative for each age division in which the studio has registered dancers when additional adult supervision is needed.
Studio Representatives serve as parent or guardian chaperones for their studio’s dancers. They are not required to be studio employees or dance teachers.
Studio Representatives:
- Must be registered by the May 22 registration deadline
- Must provide their full name and date of birth
- Must complete Velocity’s required waiver
- Must wear their Studio Representative credential at all times
- May supervise their studio’s dancers in the assigned ballroom
- May not participate in convention classes
- May not attend scholarship auditions
- May not attend teacher seminars, teacher hospitality areas, or teacher-only activities
- May not access backstage or other restricted areas
Studio Representative access is limited to the ballroom and responsibilities assigned by the studio and Velocity.
Independent dancers are welcome to attend Season Finale convention classes.
A dancer who currently trains with or represents a dance studio must register through that studio’s account.
Independent dancers may not compete at the Season Finale. All competition entries must be registered through an eligible studio account.
Independent dancers are not eligible for audition-based scholarships, MVA awards, or partner scholarships. They may be recognized with a faculty selected class scholarship when applicable.
All Season Finale convention registration must be completed through Velocity’s online registration portal by May 22, 2027.
Studios are responsible for confirming that each dancer’s name, date of birth, age division, scholarship information, and registration selections are entered correctly.
Names and birthdates must match the information used for the dancer’s waiver and media profile. Incorrect information may delay waiver completion, credential processing, scholarship application, or media access.
Velocity cannot guarantee late registration or registration at the event. Availability is based on ballroom capacity, and divisions may close before the registration deadline.
Studio registration packets must be picked up by a registered Studio Director or teacher.
A parent, dancer, or Studio Representative may not pick up the studio’s complete registration packet unless Velocity receives written authorization from the Studio Director before the event.
Velocity will have a registration booth available during Season Finale week for packet pickup and registration assistance.
The studio confirmation and preliminary schedule information will be sent to the registered Studio Director approximately one week before the event.

Velocity does not issue refunds or credits for dancers who withdraw, become injured, experience travel interruptions, or are unable to attend after registration has been submitted.
Eligible Season Finale scholarships must be applied through the online registration system before the May 22 registration deadline.
After adding a dancer to the registration roster, the studio should select the applicable scholarship attached to the dancer’s account. Studios are responsible for confirming that the correct scholarship has been selected before completing registration.

- Are valid only for the dancer to whom they were awarded
- May not be transferred to another dancer

A scholarship may cover only the portion of registration specifically stated in its terms. Competition fees, media fees, MVA program fees, Gala tickets, merchandise, and other optional experiences are not included unless specifically stated.
Dancers will learn the scholarship audition combination during their scheduled convention classes.
Only registered dancers and registered teachers may be present during scholarship auditions. Parents, Studio Representatives, and other observers may not enter the ballroom during an audition.
Dancers must audition in the age division determined by their age as of January 1, 2027.
A dancer who has received approval to take regular classes in another ballroom must return to the correct age division for the scholarship audition.
Scholarship eligibility and awards are determined by Velocity faculty. All scholarship decisions are final.
Velocity will email Season Finale schedule information to registered Studio Directors approximately one week before the event.
Schedules will also be posted on the Season Finale section of Velocity’s website when available.
Season Finale schedules are subject to change. Studios, dancers, teachers, and families are responsible for reviewing the final schedule and allowing adequate time for convention classes, competition, rehearsals, auditions, performances, and other registered activities.
Velocity wristbands and credentials must be worn by all registered dancers, teachers, and Studio Representatives while participating in the Season Finale.
Anyone without the proper wristband or credential may be denied entry into convention ballrooms, auditions, rehearsals, performances, teacher activities, or other restricted areas.
Wristbands may not be shared, transferred, altered, or reproduced.
The safety and well-being of dancers remain a priority throughout the Season Finale.
Velocity’s Wellness Booth will be available during the event to assist dancers with wellness concerns and injury assessments. Licensed physical therapists may assess specific injuries and help direct dancers and families toward additional medical care when necessary.
The Wellness Booth is not a replacement for emergency medical treatment. Anyone experiencing a medical emergency should contact venue security or emergency medical services immediately.
To help maintain safe and accessible convention spaces:
- Personal belongings must remain along the perimeter of the ballroom
- Walkways, entrances, exits, and emergency access areas must remain clear
- Dancers should not perform tricks, rehearse routines, or run through crowded areas
- Children must remain appropriately supervised
- Dancers under age 16 must be accompanied at the event by a responsible adult of legal age
- All attendees must follow instructions from Velocity staff, venue personnel, security, and medical professionals
Concerns involving dancer safety, staff conduct, boundaries, discrimination, harassment, or event conditions should be reported to a Velocity Director or designated safety representative.
The Season Finale Gala is a separate ticketed event and is not included with convention registration.
Gala seating is assigned. Guests will select available seats when purchasing tickets through the designated ticketing system.
Studios and families who wish to sit together should coordinate ticket purchases and seating selections when tickets become available.
Gala ticket availability, pricing, purchase dates, seating information, and policies will be posted separately on Velocity’s Gala page.
