  • After receiving feedback from studios across the country, we have decided to change our age divisions only in the Competition portion of Velocity. We have added an Intermediate level (ages 11-12 years old ).

  • There must be 3+ routines in Pro-Am division to qualify for cash awards.

  • All age categories are based off of the average age of each duo/trio or group. To reach the average age, add the ages of all the dancers together, then divide by the number of dancers in the routine.

  • Names, ages, and birth dates of all dancers must appear in the registration system, or it will not be accepted.

  • In the unlikely event a dancer’s age needs verification, Birth Certificates must be available upon request.

  • All ages, Convention & Competition, are determined as of January 1st, 2023. (For example: Ages for November 2022 events will be as of January 1st 2023, and ages for March 2023 events will be as of January 1st 2023.)

  • In order to compete, a dancer must be registered for convention classes as a two day attendee. One day dancers are not eligible to compete.

  • Regional competition may be limited due to time constraints. In cities with high numbers of entries, some competition may begin on Friday morning. Competition can begin as early as 7:00am on Fridays. Refunds are not offered. Please be aware of this if you are planning on competing.

  • Competing dancers may enter in as many categories as they please, but are not allowed to compete against themselves.  Numbers entered in the same category must have a 50% change in participants.

  • All ages, Convention & Competition, are determined as of January 1st, 2023. (For example: Ages for November 2022 events will be as of January 1st 2023, and ages for March 2023 events will be as of January 1st 2023).

  • We have an either/or rule for solos. Dancers must perform within a small group (4-9 dancers) or larger to compete a solo (1 dancer)/duo/trio (2-3 dancers), OR any students attending with a studio of 15+ students to the convention are eligible to compete in any division (including solos & duo/trios). If we can accommodate additional competition for a particular city, all registered attendees will be emailed three (3) weeks prior to the event opening up the solo registration to students who do not qualify within the either/or rule and are not registered as an Independent. Please note that this does vary city to city depending on registration.

  • All entries must register online HERE.

  • No entries will be accepted via email.

  • No entries will be accepted by fax or phone.

  • All entries must be registered by the registration cut-off date. (Information located under the Tour Dates page)
