Artem Chigvintsev was born in the military town of Izhevsk in the former Soviet Union, where he often skied cross-country to school through the harsh Russian landscape. Chigvintser honed his abilities in dance until he earned a spot in 2010 as a professional dancer in the United Kingdom smash hit Strictly Come Dancing, which he won with celebrity partner Kara Tointon.

After four successful seasons with the show, he accepted an offer from the producers of Dancing With The Stars to come to Los Angeles in 2014. He has been paired with a series of buzzworthy partners in DWTS, including iconic actors Lea Thompson, Patti LaBelle, Mischa Barton, Maureen MeCormick, Nancy Kerrigan, Danelle Umstead, and Melora Hardin. Artem is the Season 29 Mirrorball winner with partner Kaitlyn Bristowe (The Bachelorette) as well as an Emmy nominee for his choreography on the show.

 

Artem was a part of E! Network's Total Bellas with his wife, Nikki Bella (Garcia). He is passionate about motorcycles, and in his downtime, he loves to cook. Staying in shape is also a priority for Chigvintsev, who enjoys hiking and other active, outdoor activities.
